She also saw a wide variety of pediatric patients including congenital cases at Shriners Hospital for Children.
Dr. Abbott is excited to return home to Michigan to work and raise her family. When she is not in clinic or surgery, she spends her time with her husband and three children, hiking, riding bikes and exploring the outdoors.

Fractures
Hand and wrist fractures are common injuries that occur when there is a break or crack in the bones of the hand or wrist. These fractures can result from various causes, such as falls, sports injuries, or trauma. The hand and wrist consist of numerous small bones, and fractures can occur in any of these, including the metacarpals, phalanges, or carpal bones.
Carpal Tunnel
Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common condition characterized by compression of the median nerve in the wrist. It leads to symptoms like pain, tingling, and numbness in the hand and fingers.
Dupuytrens
Dupuytren's disease is a hand condition where thickened tissue forms beneath the skin of the palm and fingers, causing the fingers to bend inward. Commonly affecting the ring and little fingers, this progressive condition may require treatment ranging from non-surgical interventions to surgical procedures for optimal management.
Arthritis
Hand and wrist arthritis is a degenerative condition where the cartilage in the joints wears down, leading to pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. As it progresses, it can affect daily activities, requiring various treatments such as medication, therapy, splints, or in severe cases, surgical intervention to alleviate symptoms and improve hand and wrist function.
Cubital Tunnel
Cubital tunnel syndrome is a condition where the ulnar nerve, which runs along the inner side of the elbow, becomes compressed, resulting in symptoms like tingling, numbness, and weakness in the ring and little fingers. This condition can be caused by repetitive elbow bending, pressure on the nerve, or underlying health issues, and treatment may involve lifestyle modifications, splints, or in some cases, surgical intervention to relieve pressure on the nerve.
Trigger Finger
Trigger finger, or stenosing tenosynovitis, is a condition where one of the fingers or the thumb gets stuck in a bent position before straightening with a snapping sensation. It occurs due to inflammation in the tendon sheath, causing difficulty in finger movement, and can be managed with rest, injections, or, in severe cases, medical procedures to release the affected tendon.
